How Hate only generates more Hate

Updated: Nov 30, 2023

I want people to really take a hard look at the war between Palestine and Israel. We have generated a generation based upon hate and intolerance. Never before has there EVER been a school shooting in Canada but yet, it's happened. Why? Because HATE generates HATE.

It doesn't matter what color your skin is or where you come from or what religion you serve. Hatred comes from all sectors. And when hatred is allowed to run rampant, is allowed to go unchecked and unchallenged by the masses, we end up with wars that literally make no sense whatsoever.

9/11 should never of happened. But it did.

The Yugoslavia war should never of happened. But it did.

Word War 1 should never of happened. But it did.

World War 2 should never of happened. But it did.

All the world's wars, hate crimes, genocides, witch hunts, murders, etc, should never of happened but they did and they do. Why? Because when you hate something or don't understand something, it generates fear and uncertainty. When a human (especially a human), is uncertain of fearful about something or someone, they allow that fear and uncertainty to build into something darker.

Assumptions are built and discussed behind closed doors and eventually, that fear, that uncertainty and those wrongful assumptions, generate hate and once hate has been given the chance to seed, germinate then grow, it can grow at such an astonishing rate of speed, that it can jump to others.

The Black Eyed Peas summed it up with a simple verse from their hit song "Where is the Love?"

"But if you only have love for your own race

Then you only leave space to discriminate

And to discriminate only generates hate

And when you hate, then you're bound to get irate, yeah"

Can you imagine how much better our world would be if we chose not to entertain hate? If we chose not to entertain our governments in their never ending need and desire for corruption and instead, forced them to focus on their own nations versus everyone else's? Sure, it'd be a weird as hell place to live in and some would even say "The end of days is nigh!" But. Think for just one small moment. How much better it would be for everyone involved.

We've only gotten to this point in our development because we allowed ourselves to be lied too. To be deceived. To be told that hate solves everything. The biggest lie told in our schools today is that bullying won't be tolerated, but when it's reported to those of authority, nothing is ever done. This in turn generates hate. It generates fear. It generates distrust in those with the power to do something. We're told to deal with it ourselves but when we do, and depending on how we choose to 'deal with it', we're often the ones in the wrong. We're the guilty ones even though originally, we may have been the victims and, by defaulted proxy, are still the victims.

No one race is a minority when it comes to hate. Hate crimes happen to all races, sectors of society, and sectors of religion. People can't even have peaceful, political debates without someone, somewhere, getting hurt or worse.

As a person whose been bullied and has bullied others, I've had a lot of time to reflect and think about how our world has evolved. Was this the great scheme of things? Was this how, whatever and whomever envisioned us to be? The answer, for me at least, is no. We were never designed to hate. We're not born hating another person or living creature. These are things we're taught. Either through the actions of those closest to us or by those around us.

Take away the teaching of hate, and you end up with something far less ugly.

The wars between Ukraine and Russia and Israel and Palestine, are proof of what happens when you allow those of political power decide what you're going to do with the time you have left on this planet. Remember. You only get one life. You only get one go round. And before you know, before you even blink, it's over.

You have to wonder if bringing the next generation of kids into this world, is even worth the effort they'll need to invest, just to fix the damages, our generation has caused. Our climate is so badly messed up, that the hope of fixing the damages has dwindled to such a small fraction, to such a small percentage, that even climate scientists have begun to lose faith, have begun to lose hope. Imagine being a scientist and screaming at the top of your lungs, that what you're doing is going to destroy your home and you do nothing to stop whatever it is, that you're doing that's causing those damages.

Imagine inflicting injury after injury and expecting the first injury to heal, while you're still inflicting injuries.

Wounds won't heal while new ones are being inflicted.

This is how hatred works. This is why, when you think of hurting another, I do, genuinely hope, you stop, pause, think and realize the often irreversible damages you're about to inflict. Not just to those around you, but to yourself as well.

I can't speak for Isis. I can't speak for the Taliban or Al Qaida. Or the Bloodz, Crippz, or the KKK. I can only assume that somewhere, back in our planet's long lost history, we allowed our ancestors to speak illy of someone and the hatred this generated, is the issue we're left dealing with, as their generation, for today. Imagine continuing that legacy. Imagine this being the legacy we leave behind for the next generation to even try to fix.

It's a weight no child should be expected to carry. It's a weight no future generation should be expected to carry.

Despite what NASA, SpaceX, or anyone wishes to tell you, we only have one world. We only have one life and we only get one go round. If we can't fix the problems we've allowed to germinate, on this planet, why and how should be expected to not repeat history on another? Is James Cameron's AVATAR a glimpse into what we, as a race will do to another planet? I like to think it's a very eerie glimpse into our very distant future.

And it's a glimpse into our own not so distant past.

I don't have the answers on how we can stop hate, all I know is that, we could be expending our energy in other places and on other things.

We've been facing a fresh water crisis that's only gotten worse over the last few years. We've also been facing a food crisis that's also gotten worse over the last few years. Whether climate change is to blame or not, the point and fact remains; starvation strikes all sectors and walks of life. It doesn't matter if you have millions of dollars in your bank account. Once the food and water runs out, you'll be in the same boat as the lower class. Only this time, you'll be ill prepared for what's to come next. Meanwhile, we, the lower class, have been telling you, the upper class, for years about these issues.

But you chose to ignore us. You chose to instead, turn the other cheek.

You spew words of love, forgiveness and inclusivity while at the same time, being unable to practice what you preach.

If this is the path our world is heading down, I truly do fear for our planet and for our race as a whole.

What's wrong with the world, mama?

People livin' like they ain't got no mamas

I think the whole world's addicted to the drama

Only attracted to things that'll bring you trauma

Overseas, yeah, we tryna stop terrorism

But we still got terrorists here livin'

In the USA, the big CIA

The Bloods and The Crips and the KKK

But if you only have love for your own race

Then you only leave space to discriminate

And to discriminate only generates hate

And when you hate, then you're bound to get irate, yeah

Madness is what you demonstrate

And that's exactly how anger works and operates

Man, you gotta have love just to set it straight

Take control of your mind and meditate

Let your soul gravitate to the love, y'all, y'all

People killin', people dyin'

Children hurt, hear them cryin'

Can you practice what you preach

Or would you turn the other cheek?

Father, Father, Father, help us Send some guidance from above 'Cause people got me, got me questionin'

Where is the love (love)

Where is the love? (The love) Where is the love? (The love) Where is the love, the love, the love?

It just ain't the same, old ways have changed New days are strange, is the world insane? If love and peace are so strong Why are there pieces of love that don't belong?

Nations droppin' bombs Chemical gasses fillin' lungs of little ones With ongoin' sufferin' as the youth die young So ask yourself, is the lovin' really gone?

So I could ask myself really what is goin' wrong In this world that we livin' in people keep on givin' in Makin' wrong decisions, only visions of them dividends Not respectin' each other, deny thy brother A war is goin' on but the reason's undercover

The truth is kept secret, it's swept under the rug If you never know truth then you never know love Where's the love, y'all, come on? (I don't know) Where's the truth, y'all, come on? (I don't know) Where's the love, y'all?

People killin', people dyin' Children hurt, hear them cryin' Can you practice what you preach Or would you turn the other cheek?

Father, Father, Father, help us Send some guidance from above 'Cause people got me, got me questionin' Where is the love (love)

Where is the love? (The love) Where is the love? (The love) Where is the love? (The love) Where is the love? (The love) Where is the love? (The love) Where is the love? (The love) Where is the love, the love, the love?

I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder As I'm gettin' older, y'all, people gets colder Most of us only care about money makin' Selfishness got us followin' the wrong direction

Wrong information always shown by the media Negative images is the main criteria Infecting the young minds faster than bacteria Kids wanna act like what they see in the cinema, yo'

Whatever happened to the values of humanity? Whatever happened to the fairness and equality? Instead of spreading love we're spreading animosity Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity

That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' under That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' down There's no wonder why sometimes I'm feelin' under Gotta keep my faith alive 'til love is found Now ask yourself

Where is the love? Where is the love? Where is the love? Where is the love?

Father, Father, Father, help us Send some guidance from above 'Cause people got me, got me questionin' Where is the love?

Sing with me y'all (one world, one world)

We only got (one world, one world)

That's all we got (one world, one world)

And something's wrong with it (yeah)

Something's wrong with it (yeah)

Something's wrong with the wo-wo-world, yeah

We only got (one world, one world)

That's all we got (one world, one world)
